BEST POEM IN THE WORLD
I was shocked, confused, bewildered
As I entered Heaven's door,
Not by the beauty of it all,
Nor the lights or its decor.
But it was the folks in Heaven
Who made me sputter and gasp--
The thieves, the liars, the sinners,
The alcoholics and the trash.
There stood the kid from seventh grade
Who swiped my lunch money twice.
Next to him was my old neighbor
Who never said anything nice.
Bob, who I always thought
Was rotting away in hell,
Was sitting pretty on cloud nine,
Looking incredibly well.
I nudged Jesus, 'What's the deal?
I would love to hear Your take.
How'd all these sinners get up here?
God must've made a mistake.
'And why is everyone so quiet,
So somber - give me a clue.'
'Hush, child,' He said,
'they're all in shock.
No one thought they'd be seeing you.'
My Secret Place
Encased within a private place,
safe from the light
of day,
I keep some special memories,
So safely locked away.
Memories
which make me smile
and thaw my chilly heart,
happy thoughts of cheerful
times,
Of which you were a part.
Whatever should befall my life,
Should
it be short or long,
My memories accompany me
like an ever haunting
song.
And if life's feeling very bad,
And I find it hard to cope,
I
open up my secret place
and give inside a poke.
Then all the memories
flood right back
and dance around my soul,
They fill me with
completeness,
and make me, once more, whole.
They're there within my
secret place
and never will depart,
Where no one else can touch
them,
So deep within my heart.

Welcome to the very first edition of the new style BritSAL's List. I am really excited about our new list, which will enable me to share with you some lovely music, and the ability for readers to download the mp3s if they so wish. This site also enables you to visit whenever you like, and read older sends. How sad I am that I don't have the time to list all the previous sends from BritSAL's List - but from now onwards, I look forward to some wonderful new sends to share with you all. No more worries if there are too many graphics on the sends to email. I do hope you enjoy this new format!
"We don't accomplish anything in
this world alone...
and whatever happens is the result of the whole
tapestry of one's life and all the weavings
of individual threads form
one
to another that creates something."
